Driving 18 miles south of Quartzsite (US Highway 95) leads us to a junction with a dirt road that will take us to Kofa National Wildlife Refuge's Palm Canyon Trail where, according to the US Fish & Wildlife Service, "perhaps the only native palm trees in Arizona" are nestled. Then, we follow the 7-mile rugged road east to reach the base of the half-mile trail. If our Chevy could speak, I am very sure she would have cursed and cussed at the rough ride if not at us!

On our way down. Brontë's in canine heaven :-)
