We stumbled across two Dusky Pygmy Rattlesnakes on the trail. We didn't have any inkling what species they were but I was sure that they were venomous based on their color and pattern (but mostly on a gut feeling ... haha!)

We also spotted a Gopher Tortoise.
On our way home, we sighted a couple of Sandhill Cranes feeding by the road.

| Brontë behaved very well during her first snake encounter. She stayed when asked to and didn't go bonkers. She watched it silently. |
